The Los Angeles Lakers are hours away from playing their 60th game of the season and have now been fully immersed in the LeBron James experience. Today’s podcasts discuss how that’s played out with a couple really fun guests, as well as a variety of other topics by way of a mailbag.

The Lake Show

For this week’s episode of “The Lake Show,” Harrison and I welcomed Carter Rodriguez and Justin Rowan of Fear The Sword and “The Chase Down Podcast” to discuss what it’s been like to watch Lakers fans deal with all that comes with having LeBron on their favorite team.

We start by discussing whether there is any resentment, not just from Cavs fans (who rightfully might have something against the Lakers for employing the best player in the history of that city’s sports), but also NBA fans in general about LeBron being on the Lakers.

If the Lakers don’t make the playoffs, that’d be quite the disappointment for everyone who won’t get to watch him do his thing in that setting. While James is also culpable for that outcome, too, it’s hard not to look back on the experiment that the front office ran with last summer.

From there, we talk about everything from what it’s like to cover him on a day-to-day basis, to his level of commitment to the Lakers and his overall health right now, plus whether he has it in him (based on what they’ve seen) to rally the Lakers to a spot in the playoffs.

Locked on Lakers

On today’s mailbag episode of “Locked on Lakers,” listeners still seem pretty interested in how the Lakers organization works from the top down. I answer questions about that, LeBron’s pointed comments after Saturday’s loss to the New Orleans Pelicans, what the Lakers’ best lineup might be if (or when) everyone is healthy, and plenty more.

The full discussion can be listened to below, and make sure to subscribe on iTunes, where you can also leave questions in the form of a five-star review to guarantee your topic makes the show.
