Santiago Solari’s side fell to a disappointing 3-0 defeat to the Liga underdogs, leading to a stark assessment from the two defenders

Sergio Ramos says Real Madrid “lack attitude” after the club’s thumping 3-0 defeat to Eibar.

Los Blancos fell to their first defeat under Santiago Solari, in his first game as the club’s permanent manager, on Saturday.

Real have endured a shocking loss of form in 2018-19, losing five of their 13 games thus far this season.

And Ramos has issued a shocking assessment of the club’s mentality.

Speaking to Cadena SER, the club captain said: “When you lack attitude, then everything is more difficult. When the opponent has a much better attitude, you see it in the result.”

Raphael Varane echoed his defensive partner’s sentiments, after seeing Gonzalo Escalante, Sergi Enrich and Kike fire the hosts to a historic victory.

“Eibar were direct and made it complicated for us,” Varane said.

“When we lose individual duels, it costs us. We couldn’t respond to their high pressure and second balls.

“We have the quality to play football, but we’re not in a good way collectively. We lost the direct battle and couldn’t find solutions.

“We tried to play our football but couldn’t. It’s a collective problem, so we must be united and keep working like always.

“Conceding 19 goals in La Liga is a collective problem.

“All of us must improve in this aspect so we can win more games. We’re aware of the situation.

“We had a good run but now we’ve lost again. We’ll try to win again so we can regain a good dynamic.”

Real are next in action against Roma – who lost 1-0 to Udinese on Saturday – in the Champions League, before a La Liga encounter with Valencia at the Santiago Bernabeu.
