The 2015 International Champion Cup looks to be the most popular edition yet as soccer fans across the country are paying big bucks to see some of the most historic soccer clubs in the world.

The third edition of the exhibition tournament sees teams from soccer leagues across Europe, including the English Premier League, the French Ligue 1, Spanish La Liga, the Italian Serie A, Mexican Liga MX, Portuguese Primera Liga, as well as American Major League Soccer (MLS). The 2015 International Champions Cup schedule was release in April, with the North American leg of the ICC taking place from July 11 – August 5. There will also be games in Australia and China.

According to sales of International Champions Cup tickets on TicketNetwork.com, the July 25th game between Manchester United and FC Barcelona at Levi’s Stadium is by far the most popular game, with an average ticket price of $229 and a “get in” price of $176. Given the history of these two teams, Barcelona has 23 La Liga Trophies while Manchester United can claim 20 league titles, it’s not surprising that the game ticket prices are more than 30 percent higher than the next most expensive ICC Match. Tickets for the July 28 match between Barcelona and Chelsea FC at FedEx Field have the next most expensive average at $155 and a get in price of $71. The July 24 match between Italian club ACF Fiorentina and Portugal’s S.L. Benfica in East Hartford, CT is currently the cheapest ICC game with tickets averaging $62 and a get in price of $33.

Manchester United won the 2014 tournament after a 3-1 defeat of Liverpool in the final. United are back for another round in the tournament, along with Paris Saint-Germain F.C., FC Porto, Club América, ACF Fiorentina, New York Red Bulls, Los Angeles Galaxy, and the San Jose Earthquakes. The 10 participating teams have won a total of 91 domestic league titles, 98 domestic cup titles, 10 UEFA Champions League titles and 6 CONCACAF Champions League titles.

The first ICC took place in 2013 by taking the pre-season of the European club tours and turning them into an exhibition tournament. Last year, more than 630,000 fans attended a game. A world-wide audience of more than one billion people is expected for the 2015 ICC.
