Talks between the Los Angeles Lakers and New Orleans Pelicans are heating up. We’ve come a long way from Dell Demps ignoring calls from anyone in the great Los Angeles area, haven’t we? Today’s podcasts will catch you up on everything you need to know, and then try to predict where it goes from here.

The Lake Show

To get everyone ready for a week that will undoubtedly be absolutely insane, Harrison and I welcome Bill Oram of the Athletic. We are sincerely thankful that he was able to make time for us during what is undoubtedly the busiest time of the season for him.

We start by asking the question at the forefront of everyone’s mind: Will the Lakers actually land Anthony Davis by the end of this week? Bill doesn’t see it, and for good reason.

We also talk about the reportedly “heated” conversation between Luke Walton and a couple veterans over the weekend. This isn’t the first time the Lakers have rubbed veterans the wrong way. I asked Bill if this is a legitimate trend.

Finally, because Harrison is a slave to clicks, he demanded a new rumor from Bill, who did not disappoint. This was a really fun interview.

In the show’s outro, Harrison and I tried to predict how we see this playing out. Harrison actually shocked me with his response, but proved he is a coward in the process. Locked on Lakers

As with every Monday, I opened up the mailbag to answer all your questions. You guys wanted to hear about the trade deadline, so you’ll hear about the trade deadline. I do open the show by talking about that reported altercation between Luke Walton and a few of the veterans on the team.
