With the campaign for thegeneral election gaining momentum, the candidates have started campaigning to woo voters in order to reach the parliament. But there are many examples who tried several times by contesting elections, but never succeeded. One such person is Shyam Babu Subudhi, a resident of Odisha’s Berhampur who has contested 32 elections since 1962 and lost all. He contested all these elections as an independent.
The 84-year-old Odisha man is planning to contest election one more time this general election.
“I first contested in 1962 and have contested in different elections including Lok Sabha and Odisha assembly polls. I have received proposals from various political parties but always contested as an independent candidate,” Subudhi told news agency ANI.
