A 21-year-old shopkeeper was stabbed to death in Najafgarh on Thursday by two brothers – both friends of the victim – when he refused to give them a packet of beedi costing just Rs 5 for free. Gaurav, who was stabbed in front of his mother, was taken to a hospital, but was declared brought dead.
His mother told the police that around 12.30 am, Kunal and Rahul, both heavily drunk, came to their shop for free beedis. But Gaurav said that earlier too, they had taken several packets while promising to pay later but never did so.
One of them then pulled out a knife, and both took turns to stab Gaurav.
