WALNUT CREEK, CA — The photos of Hector Garza proudly holding his baby girl Camilla Rose are heartbreaking. Both are now dead, a woman is in jail charged with murder for the alleged DUI crash that claimed their lives, and left behind is a widow with funeral and hospital bills, and a lifetime of grief ahead of her.
Above are two of the dozen photos posted on a GoFundMe campaign to raise money for Kirsten Garza, who lost both her husband and baby. Hector Garza was killed instantly last Thursday in a four-vehicle wreck in Walnut Creek. Baby Camilla suffered severe head injuries and died at UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital in Oakland on Tuesday.
Hector was a popular DJ, beloved by friends and family.
At this writing, $80,000 has been raised toward a goal of $120,000. Funeral arrangements have not yet been announced.

Meanwhile, 35-year-old Jessica Martin of Tennessee was arrested at the scene on suspicion of driving under the influence. The district attorney’s office has filed murder charges against her. She is being held on $2.1 million bail.
