The newest film from former pro wrestler Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and WWE Studios called “Fighting With My Family” will be coming out in just a few more days. The film, which is based on a wrestling documentary of the same name, will be centered around the famous United Kingdom Knight wrestling family and the rise of WWE Superstar Paige. After premiering the motion picture at the Sundance FIlm Festival a couple of weeks ago, critics have mostly praised the movie and have encouraged wrestling fans and non-fans alike to check it out once it is released in theaters. However, it appears that the new film has gained a brand new fan, and that fan is none other than WWE Hall of Famer and hip hop icon Snoop Dogg.
Paige and WWE’s Cathy Kelley both stopped by the estate of the rapper, where he held a screening of the movie in his home theater. A video shows Kelley checking out Snoop’s theater, arcade, and basketball court. The video even includes a short spoiler-free review from Snoop himself. Snoop Dogg has been a lifelong fan of WWE and has made a handful of appearances on WWE programming in the past. WWE would go on to reward his allegiance to the company with a Hall of Fame induction in the celebrity wing in 2016. He is also cousins with Raw Superstar Sasha Banks. SmackDown Superstar Tye Dillinger has gotten some fans talking on social media when it comes to his future with the company, but he does still compete for WWE for the time being. Yesterday, Dillinger informed fans on social media that he would be returning to the ring during a live event later that night. Sure enough, “The Perfect 10” did come back during WWE’s show in DeKalb, Illinos last night. In his first match in months, Dillinger picked up a loss against Shelton Benjamin. Dillinger has been away from the ring since October as he’s been dealing with a hand injury. His return to action during the SmackDown live event yesterday should signal his return to television. Now that Tye Dillinger is wrestling again, expect to see him back on WWE programming once again real soon.
Here are the results from last night’s #WWEDeKalb
– #TripleThreat Shinsuke Nakamura & Rusev def. New Day and The Usos
– Carmella & Naomi def. Mandy Rose & Sonya Deville
– Shelton Benjamin def. Tye Dillinger
