According to The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE has dialed back the friendship storyline involving Ronda Rousey & Natalya that would have eventually led to a heel turn by Natalya due to her father Jim Neidhart passing away. The idea was to have her turn in The November time-frame, but with Jim Neidhart’s death, WWE felt that they couldn’t possibly go through with the storyline given the circumstances and so it was dropped.
As a result, creative went back to Nia Jax as Rousey’s main foe in this transition period even though Rousey has already wrestled her at a PPV – Money in the Bank – and won the match.
