Women’s Royal Rumble Coming in January? Batista NOT Going to HOF

The women’s revolution in WWE has blossomed into something truly astounding. Gone are the days of women wrestling in two-minute matches every week on television. WWE has since abandoned the old ‘Divas’ trademark, and the females are treated as athletes. We have seen the women headline Raw, Smackdown, and NXT. We just saw the Mae Young Classic dedicated to 32 different female wrestlers from all around the world, and we even had the first-ever women’s Money in the Bank match earlier this year as well. It appears now that the evolution of the women’s division will continue with another first-time monumental match.
As we all know, the Royal Rumble pay-per-view typically is main evented by a 30-man Royal Rumble match. However, the Dirty Sheets has now reported that WWE is going to be putting on the very first women’s Royal Rumble match at the show. It will be joined on the show by the traditional 30-man match. Similarly to the usual Royal Rumble match, it appears that the winner of the match will face either the Raw or Smackdown Women’s Champion at Wrestlemania in New Orleans. Obviously, this will be a historic match and it should prove to be unique by the time that January comes around. The 30th Royal Rumble event will be taking place at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia on January 28th.
On the subject of Wrestlemania, it was reported a few months back that WWE is considering putting Batista in the Hall of Fame class of 2018. It was rumored that he would likely be going in as the headlining act. The Dirty Sheets have also now reported that Batista is actually not going to be taking his spot in the Hall of Fame in New Orleans. According to their sources, “Bryan was the clear front-runner with it being New Orleans, but with him being unlikely to stay (with WWE) after 2018 and with Goldberg’s induction being postponed last year, Goldberg has to be the favorite.” WWE is said to be considering between 30 entrants for next year with five of those being the headlining act. In addition to Goldberg, The Undertaker is also said to be considered for the Hall of Fame next year.
