Mark Andrews competes in the WWE UK Championship Tournament tonight, but it seems that before the action gets underway in Blackpool,
There were rumours that Andrews had walked away from TNA in favour of doing the WWE UK Championship tournament, but it turns out that Andrews had quit TNA a while before he was asked to join the 16-men competing to be the first ever WWE Champion this side of the pond.
Andrews stated that he has enjoyed his time in TNA but it was time for him to move on, he said: “I had a great time in TNA, but I decided it was time to finish up with them to try and take a bet on myself, because the UK has been such a hot spot for wrestling. Fortunately for me, literally instantly after my contract was up, this opportunity came around, so it was kind of perfect timing. I had a great two years with TNA — there were no hard feelings when I left. There’s a lot of incredible talent in that company. Not just with the roster, but the staff and everyone involved. I think a lot of rumours online make it seem a lot worse there than it actually is. I just wish them the best of luck, and I really hope they can carry on doing well.”
Andrews joins a whole host of names in the biggest Wrestling Tournament the UK has seen in a long time later today, will he be the one to come out on top and become the first ever WWE UK Champion?
