— AEW wrestler Sammy Guevera tweeted a photo over the weekend of himself and recently released WWE wrestler Luke Harper. The two were at a game for the Corpus Christi Ice Rays hockey team and seeing them pictured together has gotten people wondering whether it is a sign that Harper is AEW-bound when his non-compete clause with WWE ends.
— On the latest Wrestling Observer Radio, this discussion took place and it was stated that it’s been believed for a long time that he was headed to AEW. Back in the spring of 2019, Harper was basically “buried” by Vince McMahon who just “didn’t see it in him”, causing Harper to be under-utilized. It was also noted that one source backstage said that leaving WWE was the right move and that he needed to leave.
