Several movie news websites are reporting that Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson will be co-starring in the next big feature film adapted from a comic book series. Johnson will be playing the role of villain Black Adam DC Comic’s Shazam! movie. The hero of the film is the character Captain Marvel.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, movie studio New Line Cinema has tapped Peter Segal to direct Shazam!. Segal directed “The Longest Yard”, which co-starred Steve Austin, Goldberg & Kevin Nash.
Segal will direct and produce the film. There’s no word yet on who will star in the lead role of Billy Batson, the young man who becomes Captain Marvel whenever he says “Shazam!”
