A lot of fans were disappointed when Randy Orton was drafted to Monday Night Raw, because it meant the abrupt end of his short-lived pairing with Scott Dawson and Dash Wilder, just as the group was starting to pick up steam with fans.

According to a new report from Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful.com, “The Viper” actually did more than simply push for the group on social media and work his way into matches with The Revival on a weekly basis. Orton was also reportedly pushing for them behind-the-scenes as well, and at one point even pitched the idea of a new faction to the boss, Vince McMahon himself.

Obviously, nothing ever came from Orton’s suggestions. He was sent to the Raw brand in the WWE Draft, while The Revival were sent to Friday Night Smackdown.

As Fightful also noted, Orton’s contract with WWE expires in the summer of 2020, and the legend has made it no secret that he’s open to the discussion of doing business with All Elite Wrestling at some point in the future, if the stars align.
