Ring of Honor World champion Matt Taven will defend his championship against “Hot Sauce” Tracy Williams at State of the Art on June 1. The event will take place at the Showare Center in Kent, Washington.

Williams won a Four Corners Survival Match on May 11, giving him the right to challenge Taven. The leader of The Kingdom has been louder and bolder than ever since winning the world title at the G1 Supercard on April 6, but this match with Williams will not exactly be a slam-dunk for him.

Tracy is perhaps not the most charismatic star in ROH but he is one of the best between the ropes. His association with Juice Robinson’s Lifeblood faction has put Williams on the map for many fans who were not familiar with his work.

Williams has indeed proven himself in the ring, but it could be that he will not defeat Taven on June 1. The Kingdom continues to be a dominant trio in Ring of Honor and Taven has really never looked better in the ring. Matt’s title reign has not been a popular one thus far, as many critics were unhappy with his placement atop the company. But Taven has worked hard to get that spot and his championship run may be far from over.
