This week’s WWE 205 Live saw the final of the Cruiserweight Championship tournament take place between Cedric Alexander and Tony Nese.
The eight-man single elimination tournament took place to create a new number one contender for the Cruiserweight Championship, which is currently being held by Buddy Murphy.
The match was eventually won by Tony Nese, who will now go one on one with Murphy at WrestleMania 35 and Alexander reflected on his loss on social media.
The former Cruiserweight Champion, who won the belt at last year’s WrestleMania stated that the finals didn’t work out the way he wanted, but he admits when someone has earned their spot.
Alexander stated that he has battled back and forth with Tony Nese for three years and he believes that Nese will be the next Cruiserweight Champion.
The finals didn't turn out the way I wanted but I can admit when someone has earned their spot. @TonyNese and I have battled back and forth for nearly three years now and after last night I'll be first to say you're looking at the next Cruiserweight Champion
