As noted, WWE announced earlier today that Raw Commissioner Stephanie McMahon will be returning to TV on Raw Monday night to make a “historic” announcement.

Following the announcement, the WrestleVotes Twitter account, as well as PWInsider.com, both speculated that McMahon could be announcing an all-women’s PPV event taking place in September in Long Island, NY.

According to a new report by Wrestling Standard, the announcement of the all-women’s PPV event could be setting the stage for an even bigger announcement from McMahon, and that is the creation of a Women’s Tag Team Divison in WWE, along with Women’s Tag Team Titles.

The report furthers that initial plans for the all-women’s WWE PPV call for three title matches, with the Raw and Smackdown Women’s Tag Team Titles being defended, as well as the NXT Women’s Title. A WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship match is also being discussed for the PPV, however, all of the details have yet to be ironed out.

With regards to possible tag teams that WWE could feature on the PPV, The Riott Squad, The IIconics, Alexa Bliss and Mickie James, and either Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair or Becky Lynch and Naomi, have all been discussed.
