Strasbourg have announced that their boss, Julien Stéphan, will miss Sunday’s match against Angers having tested positive for Covid-19.
Due to Covid regulations that remain in place in France, Stéphan will miss Sunday’s trip to Angers, as well as next week’s training sessions, although depending on how quickly his tests turn negative, he could be on the bench again next week when his club face Lille. Paulo Fonseca’s side visit the Stade de la Meinau next Friday.
As a result of Stéphan’s positive test, his assistants, Mathieu Le Scornet and Jean-Marc Kuentz will take charge on the bench on Sunday afternoon.
Strasbourg make the trip to Angers in desperate need of a result. Having challenged for the European places last season, they currently find themselves rock bottom of Ligue 1. They are yet to register a victory this season, although, alongside Stade de Reims, they have the most amount of draws (five).
