Wallaroos coach Jay Tregonning has confirmed winger Maya Stewart will debut against Scotland in Whangarei on Saturday. It completes a remarkable comeback for the NSW Waratahs flyer, suffering a serious ACL injury at the start of the year.Stewart is joined in the back three by Sevens flyer Bienne Terita, who scored a double in their 41-17 defeat to New Zealand last week, and Lori Cramer, who has been elevated from the bench.“The team is incredibly excited to welcome Maya Stewart for her debut this weekend,” said Tregonning.“Her journey has been remarkable – coming back from an ACL injury is never easy, but Stewart has done it with a smile on her face the whole way through.“As a team, we’ve analysed our performance against New Zealand, refocused our goals and are looking for the win this weekend.”Tregonning has kept a settled side from last week's opener against the Black Ferns, with Shannon Parry once again captaining the side.Eva Karpani is the other change to the starting side, select in the front row alongside Adiana Talakai and Liz Patu.Piper Duck has been included via the reserves, joined by Ashley Marsters, Bridie O’Gorman, Emily Robinson and Grace Kemp as the forward replacements.Pauline Piliae-Rasabale will serve as valuable backline cover alongside Layne Morgan and Trilleen Pomare. It will be the first time since 2002 the two teams will face off, with the Wallaroos looking to get their World Cup campaign back on track.“Even though the game at Eden Park didn’t go our way last weekend, it was an invaluable experience for the team,” captain Shannon Parry added.“Everyone is on the same page for this weekend, we’re all reaching for the same goal and our training has reflected that.“There’s been a shift in our intensity and the team is raring to compete against Scotland.”The clash will be shown live and ad-free on Stan Sport, with the game set to kick off at 1:00 pm (AEDT).Wallaroos team to play Scotland at Northland Events Centre, Whangarei, on Saturday 15 October, 3:00pm NZST / 1:00pm AEDT1.
