Speaking in an interview with Foot Mercato, French international and Tottenham midfielder Tanguy Ndombele admitted that he felt he could’ve stayed at Lyon for a year longer.

“I could’ve. But then I don’t know how it would’ve gone. But, yes, I could’ve stayed for another year at Lyon. For me, it was certainly not the worst moment (to leave). I think that the club also said that, we have offers to the extent that we should let him go now because if his level goes down then we will all lose. On top of that, there is a risk. When you do seasons at this level (points high), you cannot stagnate afterwards. You are at Lyon, not at PSG who only ever win trophies. It is different.”

What’s your best memory at Lyon?

The match at Manchester City. Nobody expected that of us. We had started the season in not a terrible way, but we had been very average. We went to City and turned everything around over there.
