La Dépêche du Midi report that Ligue 1 side Toulouse are in ongoing discussions with Antoine Kombouaré about becoming the club’s new manager.

The ex-Guingamp and RC Lens coach is Toulouse President Olivier Sadran’s number one priority after Alain Casanova stepped down earlier this week after he and those close to him encountered death threats owing to the club’s poor performance, with Les Violets sitting 18th in Ligue 1.

A secondary option is Frédéric Hantz, who has been out of work since 2018 after a stint with FC Metz. However, Sadran wants to bring Kombouaré in as quickly as possible and should talks decant successfully this weekend, Toulouse would like to make the appointment official at the beginning of next week.
