Speaking to reporters following Lyon’s 4-0 victory over Ligue 1 strugglers Caen last night, club president Jean-Michel Aulas confirmed that he had called title-winners PSG about a possible deal for OL’s central midfielder Tanguy Ndombele.

“I am in negotiations with the biggest European clubs and I contacted PSG myself to tell them that if they wanted not to feel left out on players with this type of talent, that they needed to position themselves. If they are in agreement to match the two or three offers that we have already received and Tanguy chooses them, we will not oppose the deal. On the contrary, it would even be good if he went to PSG. The most talented French players must be in the best French clubs. PSG, Marseille, Lyon, St Étienne or even Rennes need to come together to create an ecosystem that serves French football.”

“That is my biggest desire. PSG are the ones who have the means and can make alternative propositions to the big European clubs. They win considerably to use French clubs more when they make their purchases. PSG’s money would be used for French clubs like I did several years ago.”

Téléfoot claimed earlier today that Tottenham are in pole position currently to land the former Amiens midfielder and have already made offers to sign the player. After two transfer windows without making any signings, following the construction of their new stadium, the Champions’ League finalists intend to be active on the market again and Mauricio Pochettino holds Ndombele in high esteem.

It is our understanding that the player is not close to any decision of any kind, as Téléfoot also claim, with the outlet adding that the Lyon man seems enthralled by the North London club’s bid.
