Speaking in an exclusive interview with Foot Mercato, Leicester City right-back Ricardo Pereira discussed how he had settled into Premier League life.
On his adaptation period to the Premier League:
I think I have adapted well. I understand my colleagues better and better, I know everyone better. Everything is going well. I am growing in confidence match after match. I have adapted well. My aim is to continue like this and to continue my progression.
On playing a match on Boxing Day:
It will be a good experience. It will be different to previous years. Previously, I would watch matches with my family on television. Now, it will be different, but I think it will be nice.
On why he joined Leicester:
It was a club that rapidly made their interest known. They showed that they really wanted me to be part of their project. The Premier League is a league that I have always wanted to play in. It is the most difficult league in the world, the most competitive one in the world. All of that pushed me to chose Leicester.
The fact that I was able to speak with the manager before coming obviously counted. Adrien (Silva) explained to me what the club and the city was like as soon as he knew that the club were interested in me. That helped me and made my adaptation period easier. Their (team-mates) help was very important.
On the tragic accident that led to the death of Leicester City owner Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha:
We went through an enormous tragedy. It came without warning, in an unexpected way. At one moment, when everything was going well, we were hit with a tragedy. As everyone knows, the president Vichai was someone very important and loved at the club, but also in the town. The squad is trying to live with it, little by little. We try to pay homage to him in our own way by giving our maximum on the pitch to continue the work that he initiated. We want to make him proud up there.
