Scenes in Perpignan! A bull was let loose ahead of the Super League match between the Catalan Dragons and St. Helens on Friday.
Dragons players’ heart rates must have soared as a bull escaped the grasp of a handler and charged towards them while they were warming up for the match.
Unfortunately for the players, their warm-up tops are red!
‘Only in rugby league’
Understandably, the video quickly went viral on Twitter with a common tagline appearing ‘Only in Rugby League’.
‘Poetic rugby league moment!! Only this could happen in rugby league haha,’ quipped @Theowlandfleece.
‘Hahahaha what is happening in Rugby League’

‘Well, it beats dogs and the odd cat running onto the pitch during a @SalfordDevils game at The Willows back in the day’ joked another Twitter user.
‘That’s one way to warm up before a game,’ another added.

‘Stop the season now, it has peaked!’ tweeted @MikeyHaighy
Meanwhile, rugby union fans were quick to liken the rampaging bull to union.
‘John Hayes has never looked fitter’, joked @ek_rugby.
‘Not bad at the set piece but Frightening in the loose…’ tweeted @thepenGW.
@FromLe2 hopes that Leicester Tigers could do something similar.
‘Buzzing for Leicester to do the same and have actual Tigers roaming the pitch for the warm up tomorrow!’
The Bull was part of a pre-match show from Dragons’ owner Bernard Guasch, who is head of the Catalan Cattle Breeders’ Association.
Incredible pre-match scenes and something we have not seen since the flamboyant Stade Francais owner Max Guazzini.
Guazzini made the Top 14 club renowned for their pre-match and halftime entertainment including cheerleaders, dancers and a ton of confetti.
The bull was eventually reeled in and the players continued their warm-ups and the game was able to go ahead as planned.
