Arsenal and Chelsea have informed Lille that they are willing to pay €25m for Sofiane Boufal, according to The Guardian.
Both Premier League sides have scouted the Moroccan international intensely this season. The player’s agent Le Mee has revealed that he has met with Barcelona about his client too in an interview with Le 10 Sport. On top of that, he spoke about the other interested parties in his client:
“We have also initiated discussions with three other clubs that interest us, but they either have or will change their coach or the coach is in charge of a national team at the Euros. In England, there is interest, but the English market is just beginning. A transfer of 20 and 25 million euros is not agreed in two weeks, of course.”
In this sense, Arsenal and Arsène Wenger have an advantage in that they will be able to attempt to court after the player from now onwards. Conte is in the meantime preoccupied with EURO 2016. An advantage that Arsenal should take, if they are as interested as the English media outlet is making out.
Sky Italia in the meantime make it clear that Chelsea are very interested in the Lille man, citing the excellent relationship between the two clubs since the Eden Hazard deal as a reason why the deal could go through. They even claim that Boufal could be Conte’s first signing.
