In an interview with Eurosport, Lyon manager Jean Michel Aulas indirectly insulted Rene Girard’s record as a coach. Aulas was asked if it came to it and Fournier was sacked whether or not Girard would be contacted.
Aulas had the following to say:
“I do not know where this name has come from but it is false. If we need to change manager, we will look to a coach who has been consistently successful for a while.”
