The Foxes will play their first home game on Saturday against Burnley, following the tragic passing of their owner

Leicester will welcome Burnley to the King Power Stadium on Saturday in the Premier League, with there sure to be an emotional atmosphere at the ground as the Foxes prepare to play their first home fixture following the aftermath of the tragic passing of owner Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha.

Claude Puel’s side currently sit 10th in the table and will be looking to push on from the momentum of winning away at Cardiff last weekend. Burnley, however, languish in 15th place and have conceded 13 goals in their last three league games.

The Foxes will be looking to add more consistency to their rocky form this season, having won two games and drawn one of their previous last five matches.

Dyche’s Burnley team have struggled so far this campaign since their early participation in the Europa League, and have found it difficult to steady the ship following their elimination from the competition.

It had been assumed that Burnley’s exit from the tournament would have enabled them to regulate their league form, but they have grappled to find stability in the Premier League even without the added pressure of the Europa League.

The game away at Leicester comes immediately after three huge losses – 5-0 to Man City, 4-0 to Chelsea and 4-2 to West Ham – and Dyche’s side head into the fixture only two points above the relegation zone.

The Leicester team flew to Thailand to attend the funeral of their late owner on Monday and Tuesday, with Puel revealing how difficult the preparations have been for Saturday’s fixture – but that being able to show respect for Srivaddhanaprabha was something hugely important for the players and team.

“It was a long journey but very important for us, the players and staff to support Vichai’s family and it was a chance for us also, to honour our chairman,” told reporters. “A long trip but it was very important for our chairman.

“We didn’t have a lot of training sessions. We did a little session on Wednesday, a light session after the journey. We trained today and there is another light session on Friday.

“It’s not easy to prepare this game. I think our togetherness gives us a good energy and fantastic strength. Our spirit, positive attitude and all the support from our fans will be important.”
