L’Équipe report that FIFA have officially taken up Ligue 1 side Nantes’ claim against Cardiff City relating to missing payments for now deceased striker Emiliano Sala.

A pair of lawyers working for FC Nantes, Jerôme Marsaudon and Louis-Marie Absil, confirmed that FIFA had taken up Les Canaris’ request made on the 26th February to pursue Premier League outfit Cardiff City over missing payments for the Argentine striker:

“By letter on the 15th March, FIFA confirmed that they have registered the complaint made by FC Nantes and have made clear to Cardiff City that they have until April 3rd to respond.”

Contacted by the French newspaper, FIFA confirmed this information separately. The legal dispute concerns the first instalment of the transfer fee owed to Nantes, worth €6m, in the transfer of Emiliano Sala, which was required to be paid at the beginning of February per the agreement between Nantes & Cardiff.
