MYRTLE BEACH, SC — You can watch the power of Hurricane Florence as it moves onto land via several livestreams, including one that shows a tattered American flag shredded by the wind. Earlier Thursday people still meandered along the shores of beaches in North Carolina and South Carolina, seemingly unperturbed by the powerful storm, but the beaches are now deserted. Florence is currently a Category 2 storm spinning about 100 miles east-southeast of Wilmington, North Carolina.
The National Hurricane Center said the storm is bringing winds of 105 mph and storm surges as high as 13 feet in some areas. Coastal areas up and down the Carolinas, which have been ordered to evacuate, could see 20-40 inches of rain, resulting in dangerous flooding.
A livestream of Myrtle Beach on Thursday showed dozens of people walking on the sand and boardwalk despite a mandatory evacuation notice in the area.

You can also watch a livestream above of the Atlantic Ocean perched atop the Frying Pan, which used to be a Coast Guard tower about 34 miles off the North Carolina coast. On Thursday morning, ferocious winds could be seen whipping an American Flag as rough waves and rising oceans closed in on the coast.
