BROOMFIELD, CO — A woman accused of opening fire at a Broomfield Walmart has been charged with first-degree murder, officials said. The woman was taken into custody Tuesday and is being held at the Broomfield Detention Center.
Alyssa Borquez, 21, has been charged with seven counts of attempted first-degree murder, the 17th Judicial District Attorney’s Office said.
Officers were called to the Walmart, at 4651 W 121st Ave., around 1:30 p.m. Tuesday after receiving a call about shots fired inside the store.

The shooting occurred during a dispute between Borquez and a man, police said. The two knew each other, but the nature of their relationship is unknown. They were with a group of people who they knew at the time of the shooting, and a child — who is related to Borquez — was there when the shooting occurred, authorities said.
Borquez was taken into custody while investigators interviewed witnesses.
The man was arrested Tuesday night on unrelated charges, police said. Police initially said that the two exchanged gunfire; however an investigation revealed that only Borquez fired shots, officials said.
Borquez’s bond is set at $50,000. Her preliminary hearing is scheduled for March 19.
