NXT TV ON USA NETWORK RESULTS
The Father Of The Black-&-Gold Kicks Off NXT On USA NetworkThe show opens with Triple H’s face close up talking directly to the cameras. He tells us not to blink. As he finishes, we see he was doing the promo live, as he opens the curtain and walks out to the entrance of Full Sail.

No. 1 Contender’s Match For NXT Women’s Title Shot
* Io Shirai vs. Bianca Belair vs. Mia Yim vs. Candice LeRaeFrom there, Io Shirai’s theme music hits and out she comes to kick off action inside the squared circle here in Winter Park, Florida for tonight’s show.
On commentary, Nigel McGuinness, Mauro Ranallo and Beth Phoenix of the NXT on USA Network broadcast team build-up Shirai and tonight’s NXT TV on USA Network debut.
After that, Bianca Belair’s theme hits and she makes her way to the ring as the announcers explain to potential first-time NXT viewers who she is. Then, Mia Yim comes out and the announcers do the same. Finally, Candice LeRae makes her way out and she immediately tries to run after Io Shirai.
The bell sounds and the Fatal 4 Way No. 1 Contender’s Match for a shot at the NXT Women’s Championship begins. When the smoke clears, it’s Belair taking it to LeRae in the ring until Yim breaks up a pin attempt. Now Belair suplexes Yim to the mat and Shirai breaks up a second pin attempt.
Shirai hits a 6-1-9 on LeRae and then a springboard missile dropkick to Belair in the ring for a near fall. She hits a big high spot off the top splashing onto all three opponents on the floor as we head to a mid-match commercial break. When we return we see a stacked suplex involving all four girls from the match in the corner followed by some replays.
Now all four take turns hitting some of their key moves in rapid-fire showcase spots. When the smoke clears Shirai charges at LeRae but runs into a snap-German suplex for her efforts. A Poisonrana goes bad followed by a K.O.D. A Code Blue lands for Yim but Shirai breaks up the pin attempt. Belair spears both girls when they get back up. Belair with a K.O.D. on LeRae for a near fall that is broken up by Yim.
Yim hits a Protect Ya Neck on Belair, but Belair rolls out of the ring as Shirai dropkicks Yim out of the ring, leaving Shirai and LeRae alone in the ring. Best friends turned enemies collide now as Shirai charges at LeRae with running double knees in the corner. Yim knocks Shirai out of the ring before she can follow-up and now we get an Electric Chair from Yim reversed into a Poisonrana for LeRae. LeRae covers Yim and gets the 1-2-3 for the win and becomes the new number one contender for the NXT Women’s Championship currently held by “The Queen of Spades” Shayna Baszler.
Winner and NEW NXT Women’s Title No. 1 Contender: Candice LeRae
After The Match: Four Horsewomen Confront LeRae
Baszler and fellow Four Horsewomen Marina Shafir and Jessamyn Duke come out to confront LeRae in a three-on-one intimidation spot at the top of the stage. LeRae stares down Baszler in a face-to-face segment as Shafir and Duke stand behind LeRae.
NXT Announce Team & Undisputed ERA Vignette
We shoot to the announce team of Ranallo, McGuinness and Phoenix again before shooting to a quick video package hyping The Undisputed ERA.
Velveteen Dream Is Up Next!
Backstage, we see Velveteen Dream looking at himself in the mirror as the announcers hype him up to potential new NXT fans. The NXT North American Championship will be defended by Velveteen Dream later tonight on the show.
NXT TV Announcement For Next Week & More
With that said, we head to another commercial break. When we return from the break, we shoot to the announce team who inform us that NXT is trending worldwide at number one right now. Some video packages are shown hyping Matt Riddle vs. Killian Dain in a Street Fight in tonight’s second hour on the WWE Network and Dominick Dijakovic vs. Keith Lee is announced for next week’s NXT TV On USA Network show.
Sean Maluta vs. Cameron Grimes
Back to the ring we go as it’s time for our next match, which is a one-on-one contest pitting Sean Maluta, who is making his ring entrance now, against Cameron Grimes.
Grimes comes out and the announcers hype his performance in the recent NXT tournament.
The bell rings and Grimes hits a flying double stomp into the chest, in Jorge Masvidal vs. Ben Askren fashion, and covers Maluta for the incredibly quick pin fall victory.
Winner: Cameron Grimes
NXT North American Title Match Hype
We shoot back to the announce team, who introduce a video package promoting tonight’s NXT North American Championship showdown between current title-holder Velveteen Dream and The Undisputed ERA’s Roderick Strong. The video package ends and we head to another commercial break after the announcers inform us that this title match is up next.
NXT North American Championship
* Velveteen Dream (C) vs. Roderick StrongWe return from the break and Roderick Strong makes his way to the ring followed by NXT North American Champion Velveteen Dream, who makes an epic ring entrance.
From there we get the formal pre-match ring introductions for this title match. Mauro informs us on commentary once again that #WWENXT is trending number one worldwide on Twitter right now as the bell rings and Velveteen Dream pushes Strong into the corner and holds him until the referee breaks the action. Strong does the same to him.
Strong takes Dream down, Dream reverses and the two scramble around now as Dream gets the upper-hand on Strong early on. Dream is all over the place and he hits his trademark Lariat. Strong rolls out to the floor to recover as the fans chant for Dream and we head to a mid-match commercial break.
When we return from the break, we see Dream is still in control of The Undisputed ERA member, and is still playing mind games and using Velveteen Dream-style tactics to execute unique offense on his opponent and showboat in the process. A double-axe-handle to the back of the head sends Strong to the floor. Dream follows up with another one, blasting Strong with his landing on the floor. He rolls him back in but is cut off on his return to the ring by Strong.
Strong takes over the offense in the match now, battering the Dream on the floor with punishing offense. He rolls him back into the ring and Dream rolls right back out. Strong hits a wrecking ball dropkick on Dream on the floor and poses and gloats as the fans boo. Strong smashes Dream back-first into the ring apron on the floor. He rolls him back in the ring and goes for the cover but Dream kicks out at one, which impresses ole’ Mauro Ranallo. We see some replays of the aforementioned action as Strong locks in a sleeper on Dream in the ring.
Dream tries to roll to escape as the fans chant and cheer him on. Finally, Dream escapes the hold, but Strong stomps on his back and continues to deliver additional punishment now as he remains in firm control of the match. We head to another mid-match commercial break as the action continues.
We return from the break and Strong is still dominating the action until Dream cuts things off with a super kick. He goes for a Death Valley Driver and then hits The Dream DT for a near fall. Mauro almost loses his mind during the pin fall. The fans chant “NXT! NXT!” as we see replays and Dream heads to the top rope.
Roderick Strong rolls to the floor before Dream can do anything. Strong and Dream exchange punches now on the ring apron, with Dream in the ring and Strong outside. They each go to suplex the other onto their side, but things end up with Dream eating a stiff kick from Strong that Beth Phoenix described as a crack of lightning in terms of its’ sound. The fans chant “This Is Wrestling! This Is Wrestling!” as the action continues.
Velveteem Dream runs into a knee strike from Strong. Strong ties Dream’s arms into the top and middle ropes, ala Andre The Giant (…who has a new BIO-graphy out, if you haven’t heard yet, by the way!). Dream gets free and Strong blasts him with a backbreaker before locking him in the Strong Hold boston crab. The fans in Full Sail explode now as Dream appears stuck dead in the center of the ring now as Strong sinches in on the submission. The announcers scream along as well. Dream crawls and screams to the ropes, with Mauro questioning if he was tapping or crawling.
He was not tapping.
The match continues now as Kyle O’Reilly, Bobby Fish and Adam Cole, the other members of The Undisputed ERA, come down to ringside. Dream and Strong are both on their feet now.
Dream and Strong exchange punches, with the champion getting the better of things. In a ref bump spot, Strong knocks Dream into the ref and now there is no official to control the potential chaos that could break out.
Velveteen Dream hits a Dream Valley Driver on Strong and starts taking out Undisputed ERA members with super kicks. Strong hits another finisher and covers Dream as the ref recovers just in time.
One…
Two…
Dream kicks out. The fans in Full Sail go nuts with “NXT! NXT!” chants.
Back on his feet, Dream hits a Dream Valley Driver on Strong but walks into a kick from an Undisputed ERA member while another distracts the referee. He turns around into Strong’s finisher, The End of Heartache, and boom, we have ourselves a NEW NXT North American Championship.
Winner and NEW NXT North American Champion: Roderick Strong
After The Match: The Undisputed ERA Has The Gold & Hour 2 Is Coming Up …
Mauro Ranallo freaks out on commentary explaining that The Undisputed ERA now holds ALL of the championships in NXT. Their theme plays as they pose with the titles on the top of the stage as Dream sells in the ring and Mauro loses his voice on commentary yelling so much, and promoting the second hour continuing on the WWE Network.
Pete Dunne vs. Arturo Ruas
Kicking off hour number two inside the ring here on NXT TV on the WWE Network will be The Bruiserweight, as former WWE United Kingdom Champion Pete Dunne makes his way to the ring. He will be in action against Arturo Ruas.
The bell sounds and here we go as the second hour of this historic evening of NXT action from Full Sail University in Winter Park, Florida continues.
Dunne dominates the action early on, however Ruas manages to actually make this a fight now and is getting in some nice offense of his own. In the end, however, Dunne’s experience wins over, and so does he, via submission.
Winner: Pete Dunne
WWE Cruiserweight Title No. 1 Contender Match Tonight
A number one contender’s match for a shot at the WWE Cruiserweight Championship match is also announced, however, it will take place later tonight and will feature Lio Rush vs. Oney Lorcan.
Dakota Kai Returns Next Week
A vignette is shown announcing the return of Dakota Kai to NXT on next week’s episode.
Xia Lie vs. Aliyah
In women’s action, we return to the ring where Xia Li will be going one-on-one against Aliyah.
Aliyah came to the ring accompanied by Vanessa Borne after Li makes her walk to the squared circle. The bell sounds and the match is underway.
The two go back-and-forth in what was a pretty basic, and somewhat quick match with Xia Li picking up the win.
Winner: Xia Li
Imperium Attacks Developmental Wrestler & Kushida
Developmental talent Denzel Dejournette was making his entrance to the ring for his scheduled match against Kushida when he was taken out via three-on-one attack by the Imperium faction.
Alexander Wolfe, Marcel Barthel and Fabien Aichner took out Dejournette and the fans chanted for WALTER. Finally, he appeared.
WALTER began to speak but was cut off by Kushida. Kushida came out dressed up like Marty McFly from Back To The Future. Things get ugly and a lopsided attack begins, however, Kushida fights his way out of it until WALTER gets involved.
WALTER tears off Kushida’s “Marty McFly” style jacket and continues his beat down. Kushida manages to land a hope spot kick but retreats when all four members of Imperium get ready to gang up on him.
WWE Cruiserweight Championship No. 1 Contender Match
* Lio Rush vs. Oney LorcanUp next is our previously advertised WWE Cruiserweight Championship Number One Contender’s Match, as the returning Lio Rush goes one-on-one against Oney Lorcan.
This one is given some time and when all is said-and-done, it is Lio Rush who stands tall as the next number one contender to the WWE Cruiserweight Title. He almost lost a knee doing it, but he will be the next challenger to Drew Gulak’s title.
The finish came when Rush avoided Lorcan charging at him with a Blockbuster attempt, instead taking him down with a big Spanish Fly, before leaping to the top and blasting him with a Frogsplash for the pin fall victory.
After the match, Lio Rush’s music played as he celebrated in the ring and continued to sell his knee injury from the match.
Winner and NEW No. 1 Contender To WWE Cruiserweight Title: Lio Rush
Street Fight
* Matt Riddle vs. Killian DainIt is now time for our main event of this historic edition of NXT TV from Full Sail University in Winter Park, Florida, as hour one premiered the new weekly NXT TV On USA Network deal, while an equally busy and newsworthy second hour continued live on the WWE Network.
The entrances for this one are out of the way, as are Riddle’s shoes, as is always the case for “The Bro King” when he is in battle mode, whether it be in the ring or in the streets! The NXT Street Fight between he and Killian Dain is now underway.
This one goes all over the place and gets even more intense than you might imagine in spots, as these two definitely delivered on all fronts.
The fight ended up backstage, with several other NXT Superstars, such as WALTER, The Street Profits, The Forgotten Sons and others getting physically involved.
Back in the arena, the battle continued when more people got involved, as Riddle and Dain cleared them out of the way. The ring fills up with tons of people as chaos breaks out.
In an awesome spot, Dain hits the ropes and executes an insane dive to the floor, taking out several people as the fans inside Full Sail chant “Holy Sh*t! Holy Sh*t!”
NXT TV goes off the air as a huge brawl continues.
