Hollywood A-lister and part-time WWE Superstar Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson recently provided a great endorsement for an entertaining wrestling product that is continuing its’ efforts to establish itself in the U.S. market with the upcoming second season of their show on the El Rey Network.

Pro wrestler Ricochet recently asked The Rock about season two of Lucha Underground, which debuts on the aforementioned El Rey Network next Wednesday, January 27th, and “The Great One” responded by referring to the product as “cool and gritty,” before giving props to movie director Robert Rodriguez, who is involved with the project.

“Robert Rodriguez is a good bud and his content is dope,” wrote The Rock, who will make his pro wrestling return at WrestleMania 32 in April.

The initial tweet led to interaction between The Rock and multiple Lucha Underground-related Twitter accounts, including the official account for the promotion. You can check out The Rock’s social media interaction regarding Lucha Underground below.

For fans who have yet to witness Lucha Underground action themselves, you can catch up on the product this Saturday morning, as the El Rey Network will be kicking off a 40-hour marathon at 10am ahead of the season two debut on 1/27.
