Real Madrid are reportedly looking to steal a march on Barcelona as both giants have been linked with a move for Luka Jovic.
The 21-year-old has impressed so far this season, scoring 19 goals and providing four assists in 27 appearances in all competitions for Eintracht Frankfurt.

It appears as though that form has attracted the attention of both Real Madrid and Barcelona, with Mundo Deportivo noting, via Bild, that the former have launched a €45m bid for the Serbian youngster, with Barcelona also specifically mentioned as an interested party in the report.
Both sides have issues up front in terms of a lack of quality depth and long-term options, with the reliance on Karim Benzema and Luis Suarez continuing respectively.
While both stalwarts have continued to impress so far this season, there is a strong case to be made that they will need to be replaced sooner rather than later.
In turn, Jovic would undoubtedly add competition for places in the more immediate future and perhaps offer a long-term solution given he’s still so young, should a move to either Madrid or Barca materialise.
However, it’s not suggested that Madrid’s €45m offer has been accepted, with Jovic currently on loan in Germany from Benfica, and so it remains to be seen whether or not that’s enough to convince them to sell their prized asset.
With that in mind, although it looks as though Los Blancos are trying to push their way to the front of the queue by making a reported offer, Barcelona still have time to ensure that they land their touted target and that he secures a move to the Nou Camp instead.
